Birthday Event Success

We cleaned the house and prepared the day before cooking a double order of Beef Stew with Red Wine Sauce after i discovered how much more flavor the beef takes on being refrigerated overnight after cooking.  I prepared the vegatables just before serving while Kim made her signature salad of romaine with thin slivers of red onion, toasted almonds, mandarin oranges and poppy seed dressing - yummie.  We took down 4 bottles of Bordeaux amoung the 16 or so adult attendees, plus a back up bottle of Merlot and many beers.
