Every other Sunday in NYC I invite various friends over for Sunday Supper. In the Summer I serve at least one seafood dish. In the Fall and Winter I more often than not serve a hearty protien accompanied by one of my grits recipes. The day after Thanksgiving I headed to San Francisco for some weekend play and meetings this week.
On Sunday, I hosted a Sunday Supper for my San Francisco friends. With the weather still on the warm side, I couldn't bear to serve a heavy roast as planned. So I made a comprimise with a little Summer Seafood mixed with a little Winter Hearty and served my favorite Shrimp and Grits recipe.
This recipe, printed in many publications and created by the late Bill Neal of Crook's Corner in Chapel Hill, NC, is by far the best Shrimp and Grits recipe I've ever tasted or made. And believe me, I've tasted over 100. As a die-hard Carolina fan, it kills me to send traffic to a Duke University site, but this recipe is that good. You can find it here!
